For the annual castle concert Manfred Honeck had selected one of the most popular orchestral works of recent music history: Felix Mendelssohn's "Midsummer Night's Dream", the music to Shakespeare's eponymous comedy. Josef Vejvoda - CEO
Born into a long established Viennese family of musicians. He studied trumpet at the College of Music in Vienna before playing in all the major Viennese orchestras. He has been playing in the Vienna Volksoper Orchestra since 1977. His secondary occupation: tennis player!
Sibylle Honeck - Board Member
Born in Vorarlberg. Learnt first violin, then cello under G. Kaufmann and W. Herzer at the University of Music and Performing Arts Vienna. Cellist in the Volksoper Vienna since 1988. Member of the Phoenix piano trio and the Haydn philharmonic. Played in concerts at home and abroad.
Kurt Hintermayr - Board Member
Born in Vienna. Studied violin and viola in Vienna under Professor Ochsenhofer. Participated in international tours with top Viennese orchestras and chamber ensembles. Founder of the Nexus Quartet Vienna. Various CD recordings with chamber music and as a soloist. Violist in the orchestra of the Volksoper Vienna since 1989.
Kota Morikawa - Board Member
Born in Kagoshima, Japan. Studied violin in Japan and under Professor Schich and Professor Barilly in Vienna. Chamber music tuition with the Amadeus Quartet and with the Altenberg Trio Vienna. Founder of the Rugerius piano trio. Principal second violin in the orchestra of the Volksoper Vienna since 1993.
